Helpful Tips

Here are some tips that we thought might be helpful before you call us for service. We hope these will be useful and might save you a service call.

Feel free to print them out and keep them near your furnace.

Air Conditioning or Heat Pump

• Be sure power is on to the unit.
  

• Check the thermostat for proper setting. Make sure the selector switch is in the cooling position.
  

• Check for blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker.
  

• Check for dirty filters.
  

• Check outdoor coil for debris
  

• Call McIntosh Heating & Cooling  at (816) 373-9500   for service.
  

Furnace

• Check gas pilot. Light if necessary, following the instructions on the unit (disregard for electronic and gas furnaces with electronic ignition).
  

• Check thermostat for proper setting. Make sure selector switch is in the heating position.
  

• Check for blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker.
  

• Check for dirty filters.
  

• Call McIntosh Heating & Cooling  at (816) 373-9500   for service.
  

For optimum performance, be sure to schedule a cooling tune-up in the spring and a heating tune-up in the fall. Better yet, sign up for a McIntosh Maintenance Agreement and we'll take care of it for you.
